Strategic Plan - Capital Region Health System

MISSION: To provide qualitative and comprehensive healthcare to the residents of Central Pennsylvania to include medical, dental, social, and related services to those who lack the advantage of personalized health care and related services and to become a health care provider of choice for general and managed care patients.

VISION: To be recognized as the premier health care provider for medical, dental, social and related services in the Central Pennsylvania area.

  • GOAL #1. Improve and enhance customer services and customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction will be achieved through the training of all employees, including physicians, in the art of customer satisfaction and the development of appropriate interpersonal skills needed in interfacing with patients. (Our customers)

    GOAL #2. Manage the assets of the corporation in a business-like manner. Assure that appropriate accounting internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the corporation. Through the use of appropriate reports, MIS interface, and training, departmental senior level managers will gain an understanding of the monetary impact of the staffing, spending, and operational hours to the fiscal bottom line of the operations.

    GOAL #3. Undertake capital fund expansion. Begin capital fund raising initiative to address the physical structure improvements needed to enhance the visibility, usability, and space limitations of the present facilities. Obtain necessary funds to provide additional physical space to the exiting Fulton Street location and the Walnut Street location.

  • GOAL #4. Acquire JAHCO accreditation. Establish polices and procedures to qualify CRHS for accreditation through the enforcement of appropriate Quality Assurance methodologies, and the accomplishment of Goals 2-3.

    GOAL #5 – Improve and enhance the image and reputation of CRHS. Through the use of improved services and customer relations, CRHS will acquire a reputation as a desired facility for treatment. A marketing, media campaign will be undertaken to publicize new name, logo.

    GOAL #6. Community involvement churches, governmental, civic, fraternal, community, charitable, corporate and other appropriate groups An outside consultant will be hired to work with the Board on implementation of this phase no later than July 31, 1999. Plan is to include development of a database of aforementioned organization, contact persons, development of liaison to provide input and participation by CHRS in providing staff and involvement in community fairs, health screening at churches, fairs, etc. Development of media spots, including radio, television, and print media to promote and enhance CHRC’s image. Development of listing for all faith based organizations with particular emphasis on minority based churches and devise a strategy and institute contact with their Health/Nurse auxiliary/ministry to identify Hamilton as a healthcare partner. Emphasize ability to provide BP screening, prostate screening, etc.

    GOAL #7. Establish Hamilton Health Center Foundation. Incorporate the foundation as 501( c )(3) and partner with community, civic, religious, governmental leaders to launch this initiative. Target November 1 as the date for contributions based on public awareness/relations campaign to begin September 1. Partner with First Union to manage donations and assist in the launch initiative.
