Our Eye Care Providers Near Harrisburg
Hamilton partners with Dr. Julian Procope, M.D. of Horizon Eye Care Group, with offices in Harrisburg and Lancaster. Dr. Julian Procope is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Procope received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in refractive surgery at the Corneal Consultants of Indiana. Furthermore, he specializes in LASIK and cataract surgery. He also has performed over 15,000 laser vision correction procedures, and over 12,000 cataract and intraocular surgeries. Dr. Procope has published several articles on medical and surgical eye care, and is a contributing author in two textbooks on corneal and refractive surgery.
Throughout his career Dr. Procope has also served as an expert on an international panel of LASIK surgeons, and has served as an instructor in LASIK for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Paul Bednarek, O.D., also of Horizon Eye Care, earned his Bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He interned at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, with concentrations in pediatrics, glaucoma and ocular emergencies. His optometric training also included rotations through The Vision Center in Pittsburgh, PA and the Nalle Clinic in Charlotte, NC. He has practiced optometry in Central Pennsylvania since 2003.
Dr. Bednarek performs comprehensive eye exams on patients of all ages. He has a strong interest in detecting, preventing and treating conditions such as dry eye and glaucoma. In addition, he also has tremendous experience in the contact lens field, fitting many challenging patients with the latest in astigmatic, bifocal and dry eye contact lens technology. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.
